TARBERT MUSIC FESTIVAL OUR FAVOURITE AUTUMN EVENT

This year’s Tarbert Music Festival runs from Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd September and this year we are delighted that The Big Tent will be home to Saturday and Sunday gigs.

The weekend kicks off with the legendary 80’s band The Bluebells headlining the Friday night Festival opener in the Village Hall. This promises to be a sell-out show and with tickets running low, we’d encourage you to get yours now – nobody wants to be left outside for this one. Visit Skiddle to secure yours.

With music throughout the village from Friday, all the way to Sunday our line-ups offer something for everyone.

Saturday afternoon sees passionate and introspective Scottish singer-songwriter David WILTs to the marquee. He’ll be joined by indie-pop-rock singer/songwriter Allan Purvis who’s
‘festival of summer anthems’ will be with you long after the festival is over. Sean Findlay, straight from the Edinburgh Fringe, and DJ Lewis round out your Saturday afternoon.

Then before you know it, it’s time for Saturday evening’s entertainment with West Loch Ceilidh Band, and performances from the Loch Fyne Pipe Band and The Forget Me Not Choir.

And just when you think it’s all over it will be back to the marquee for Sunday afternoon’s session. This includes formidable female band The Hedrons, who are no strangers to the festival scene. They can boast being the opening band for legends such as Sex Pistols, Rolling Stones and Alice in Chains. Joining The Hedrons are new powerhouse singer Roisin McCarney and young local band After You who are back by popular demand, following their performance at Beer on the Pier.

Big Tent events are licenced, have free entry and there will food available to buy. Tarbert Harbour’s additional facilities, including toilets, trampolines and other play equipment for younger children all add to the festival atmosphere.

MUSTERS AND EVENTS

Over the summer Tarbert Harbour hosted various musters and events.
The Big Tent proved very popular with the vibrant atmosphere and warm hospitality of our marina.

From classic yachts to modern cruisers, a diverse range of vessels graced our waters, creating a stunning spectacle for visitors and locals alike. The musters offered a wonderful opportunity for boat owners to connect, share experiences, and celebrate their shared passion for sailing and boating.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the clubs and gatherers who stayed with us, including Clyde Cruising Club, Sailing Cruising Scotland, Serpent Yacht Club, Cape Cutter Rally, Fairlie Fishers Owners Association, Ocean People Rally, Scottish Moody Owners Association, Tarbert Sailing Society and Royal Scottish Motor Yacht Club (RSMYC). Your enthusiasm and camaraderie contributed significantly to the success of the summer musters.

We look forward to welcoming you back to Tarbert Marina for future events - don’t forget to bring your friends!

KINTYRE CAR HIRE AT THA

Step ashore and explore Kintyre with our car rental partnership.
Kintyre Hire is now offering a car rental service directly from Tarbert Harbour. Whether you're planning day trips ashore or extended adventures beyond the harbour, you can now rent a car right here.
Here's how it works:

  • Visit Kintyre Hire's website at https://www.kintyrehire.com to browse their selection and book your car online.
  • Visit the Tarbert Harbour office to find out about rentals and availability.
  • While a variety of vehicles are available, currently, a medium-sized hatchback is ready for immediate rentals. However, if you require a different type of vehicle, you can contact Kintyre Hire in advance to arrange its availability for your arrival.

This new partnership allows you to seamlessly transition from your nautical adventures to exploring the beauty and hidden gems that Kintyre and Argyll and Bute have to offer on four wheels.

THE WAVERLEY RETURNS!

We're thrilled that the iconic paddle steamer Waverley returned to Tarbert this summer!
Every Tuesday, there has been the opportunity to jump onboard this historic vessel, for a journey taking in the stunning scenery of the Clyde and its surrounding areas.

Additionally, these trips have seen hundreds of visitors disembark the Waverley at the East Pier to spend the afternoon in our wee village.

If you missed out this summer, don't worry - make sure you keep an eye out for future visits to Tarbert in 2025.

FISH QUAY DEVELOPMENT

We are pleased to announce we are nearing completion of the Fish Quay Refurbishment works.
Thanks to a grant funding through the UK Seafood Infrastructure Scheme and managed by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), Tarbert Harbour Authority has been able to refurbish and redevelop the Tarbert Fish Quay.

We expect the project to be completed by the end of September.

TARBERT HARBOUR IS BLOOMING LOVELY

We would like to highlight the exceptional work of our dedicated gardening team (Mark and Rosie) who have transformed the harbour gardens into a vibrant oasis throughout the summer. Their tireless efforts have ensured that our grounds are meticulously maintained and bursting with colourful blooms.

From carefully tending to our flower beds to ensuring the grounds are pristine, our gardeners have gone above and beyond to create a welcoming and ever changing environment, for all our customers.

Their passion for their work is evident in the beauty and diversity of the flora that now graces the harbour. And their hard work has made a significant contribution to the overall charm of Tarbert Harbour. We hope you have enjoyed the stunning floral displays as much as we have.

From pretty planters to stunning displays, Mark and Rosie have filled the area with seasonal colour.
