Loch Fyne Community Biosecurity Action Plan

We would like to remind users of Loch Fyne to stay vigilant for the invasive species known as Carpet Sea Squirt – Didemnum vexillum – which is now present in Scottish waters.

"Carpet Sea Squirt can grow rapidly to cause heavy biofouling with impacts for boats and infrastructure and it can smother immobile species including farmed shellfish as well as natural features."

For more information and a factsheet on what to do if you find evidence of Carpet Sea Squirt, please download the PDF Here.

We are pleased to announce that Tarbert harbour is now open to visitor boats in line with government guidelines.

We do not have a booking system in place for visiting vessels. However, we would appreciate if you would radio in on channel VHF 14 or phone 01880 820344, prior to berthing.

Our Toilet/Shower facilities are also back open to boat users.

We look forward to welcoming you all back to Tarbert after a long uncertain period. Lets pray for some better weather too!

As always, the safety of our customers and staff is of utmost importance to us, so we have provided hand sanitiser around the Harbour for customer use and social distancing is still required as per government guidelines.

With this in mind, we also have sensible restrictions on the number of people who can use certain facilities such as the shower units, toilets and chandlery at any one time.

If you have any questions please contact us on 01880 820344 or email us at info@tarbertharbour.co.uk.

Stay safe everyone.
